Grand Pa Bennie
Storys I remember, by Dale Wills, the 3rd. Grandchild, AKA the Fav.
When Bennie was 13 years old he had enough of the 8th. grade school and he said he went in the front door and out the back window. He went to Kalivenator and got a job putting rubber bumpers on carpet sweepers.
While in the USN on board ship Sailor Piersma-Van Dike drank some Lie thinking it was milk, this almost killed him. He had his throat very heavily scared from the lie, to which he later claimed was why he could drink scolding hot coffee down like drinking ice tea.

Almost Famous
Not A Piersma by birth but Daren D. Wills Sr. was welkomed into the Family when he took Ruthie.
This a bit for his Texas High School Football history. The 1940 Citric Bowl. Story goes' He played High School football for 5 years he may have gone for one more year except for WWII was a calling he answered into the US Navy. Oh back to the football story he was playing for Dona High Redskins (#24) against some Mission High team that pitted him against Tom Landry. I think that the Mission High team won, as that year Tom helped them go 12/0.

Grandpa Ben

Rare shot of Ben Piersma's WWI USN Anchor tattoo. He may have entered the Navy at age 19 when USA entered WWI on April 6, 1917. He was not proud his tattoo. As a impressionable young lad I was admiring his tattoo and Popeye's, so he made a great pitch for me to not ever get one. He took me to the sink and started to scrub his tattoo with a bar of Lava soap, soon his skin was all red around this tattoo and said to me, I hate this thing and I can never get rid of it, if you ever decide to get one make sure you will want to see if for the rest of your life, I never have.
